GOOD CHRISTIANS ARE GOOD CITIZENS

Attended by various people from different countries of the world, the Sunday Service proved to be an exercise in spiritual self-discovery and knowledge in our roles as Christians. Shortly after the prayer line, Prophet T.B. Joshua preached a sermon on the theme: “Good Christians are Good citizens”.

The man of God said whatever makes men good Christians makes them good citizens, and that a good Christian must pray against broken homes. He said he knows what it means to come from a broken home, because at the age of one, he was left with his mother; he knows the pain and agony associated with this, and it is not the wish of Jesus Christ to see these children without motherly care at this young age.

He said regarding faith, he is a Christian, and not a religious man and that when you strive against people standing on the pulpit and speaking against others, you are fighting the wrong battle. He said we are to battle against the spiritual entities that cause tension in our spiritual lives.

He said the gospel of Christ is the good news, the message of righteousness, and that a Christian needs to apply himself to his duty as a Christian soldier. It is not the physical appearance that is our enemy, according to the respected prophet, because we are fighting the physical appearance that we are seeing. He said if we are not armed for battle, we will fight the wrong battle. If we are not armed for battle, we will not be able to listen to the inner voice of the Holy Spirit.

He had concluded that we preach the gospel, the good news, but Jesus makes it happen, Jesus makes it work in the person of the Holy Spirit.

Testimonies followed the prophet’s message.

ALHAJI YAHAYA BUSARI AND WIFE DELIVERED FROM EVIL SPIRITS AND RECONCILED

In the previous week was the issue of Alhaji Yahaya Busar and his wife, Comfort Idibor, as prophesied by Prophet Joshua who had said there was some controversy over a child. A video was played to reflect the prophecy, and the situation in this home, which was largely cause by dissimilarity in faith.

Quoting from Romans 13:1-14, Prophet Joshua said that  Jesus is the one with power to change people. He established that in the family of Rosemary (the wife to Alhaji), there was the problem of mental disequilibrium which caused depression, and that she should not use faith to cause crisis. Of the husband, he said that there was a curse on him to marry as many as seven wives before he could settle down. The couple, he said, needed deliverance and become one again because love is very strong and we are known by our love.

PASTOR AND MRS FAVOUR AARON RECONCILED AFTER DELIVERANCE

A video was replayed of the prophecy by Prophet Joshua last week, on the dilemma of Pastor Favour Aaron who had experienced destructive impact of ancestral idols and marine spirits. He had been tormented by the spirit of confusion, and was sleeping in hotels, carrying women and drinking heavily. The spirit had reduced him in statics; he became poor and rejected. Once, he got lost in water for two weeks when he was supposed to be doing exams in school. The spirit said it forced him into an agreement (covenant) and he was supposed to become very rich and later return to it in water. He had a first wife from whom he separated. He had once acquired different cars and built a house and a flying boat when he was young. The spirit said the deacon had big children in the Atlantic Ocean. His father once killed a crocodile and its spirit had entered the young man, and though prayerful (he prayed for between five and six hours), the spirit still retained its place in his life. In his dreams, Pastor Favour of the Royal City of Grace Ministries had often experienced being intimate with women; He had called his wife a witch and had often beaten her. He kept borrowing money with which to feed his family, having lost all. In other churches, the wife had been called a witch by the other pastors.

After his deliverance, he became sober and re-discovered his past mistakes. Prophet Joshua, during the service, re-united the couple, while praising the wife as an example to be imitated by other women for her patience, forthrightness and sincerity, despite troubles. She had told the congregation that “Without the neck, the head cannot stand”, and that “all other women should always be patient” God will answer their prayers.

PASTOR AND MRS ERNEST DAVIS DELIVERED FROM EVIL SPIRIT

There was the replay of the video in which the spirit in Pastor Davis manifested during the last Sunday service. The spirit had called itself a tiger, which destroyed him because he failed to serve it, while choosing to serve God. The ministry which he set up had faced problems and the man had been slapped with diverse accusations. The man, who had studied in Poland as a marine engineer and had served as a manager in an oil company, had alleged to become successful by the influence of the spirit. It said it was from the deep sea of India, and it was responsible for making him lose friends and peace of mind for failing to serve it.

In the church today, he came with his wife to thank God for what happened to him. He said the first four years of his pastoral work was okay as great things occurred. Shortly after, confusion set in, and the ministry hit the rock and those he had helped turned their backs on him. Though he had struggled to be delivered in different churches, he eventually came to The SCOAN After returning from South Africa.

Before coming for deliverance, he had encountered the fat spiritual wife who tormented his life, especially in his dreams. She would come into his home or office as a breeze or a snake. He said before starting a ministry, he was a successful engineer; he had attended a Bible College and had served in eight churches, with his doctorate degree. His first wife ran a beer parlour which broke the home, but loves the new woman in his life. He advised that if anyone is a man of God, he should be careful with the kind of woman he marries, and “If you are called, look for a man in higher authority to know the steps to take”. On his wife’s request for assistance, for them on accommodation, Prophet Joshua said he would ask from God if he was called to serve as a pastor or go back to his job as engineer.

MRS JOY ANYIAM: DELIVERED FROM SPIRIT OF LUST AND REUNITED WITH HUSBAND

A video was replayed of the deliverance of Mrs. Joy Amyiam through Wise Man John Chi, during last week’s service. She was prophesied to, and it was revealed that she had a spiritual husband who made life so terrible for her, and created separation from her husband. She equally lusted after other men, failed in her projects and did not experience true love.

Mrs. Joy Anyiam was in church today to tell her story. A graduate of the University of Calabar in environment Studies, she had lusted after men without self-control. When her parents became disturbed, she got married to a man to check her lustful life. She confessed to the fact that she had “loved men so much”. Her husband lived in Ghana and a distance was established. She had been unsuccessfully delivered for seven times. She dreamt always of sleeping with men. She is grateful to God for delivering her at The SCOAN. Her husband, Mr. Sunny Anyiam, was also in church, and so the children. He said he has forgiven her: “She is my wife. I have married her and she will continue to be my wife”. She said she believes that God is the ultimate.

DISTANCE IS NOTA BARRIER – TESTIMONIES FROM PAKISTAN

Video clips were shown to the congregation on developments in the Emmanuel School, Lahore, Pakistan. This was aimed at emphasizing the merits of the Emmanuel TV Partnership as well as the spirit of giving. The school was built in March 2012 for the less privileged children. Wilson Nawab, Principal of the school, said there are 100 students and 5 staff, while the school runs curriculum and non-curriculum activities including reading and writing. The kids are expected to grow into responsible and independent citizens. Students’ outing was organized, while they participated also in the celebration of the Pakistan Independence Day on August 15^th, 2012. There were also drama and songs in performance by the students. It was also shown that The SCOAN is making strong impact in Pakistan. A cross-section of people spoken to emphasized the impact of the church in that society. For instance, Khalid Jamali spoke on the prospects of the Emmanuel TV Cable in Lahore (the biggest city in Pakistan). Ariz Raza testified to the blessings associated with Emmanuel TV, the breakthrough in business and finances which he has kept enjoying. Shahzad Sohen, Hashir, Asif and Saba Shahzad all spoke on the great impact which Emmanuel TV and The SCOAN have had on their lives, and make them close to God.

OKWOKENYE NKENCHAR RETURNED TO OFFICE AFTER SACK, THROUGH ANOINTING WATER

One of the testimonies on Anointing Water was made by Okwokenye Nkenchar, from Delta State, Nigeria. He was a victim of the rationalization which occurred in the oil company where he was working. His name had been on the list of those to be removed from work, but he was lucky that his wife got the Anointing Water which he had administered on himself. Over a year now, he is still working in the same company. Cheerful and thankful to God, he advised that people should get hold of Anointing Water because it is what God is using to deliver people from their plagues. He said “We have to trust in the power of God. What seems impossible becomes impossible”.

MR OJUKWU JOHANS DELIVERED FROM PROTRUSION IN ANUS THROUGH ANOINTING WATER

He had suffered protrusion in the anus for many years. He could not excrete, and found life so painful. He had visited many hospitals without success, but when he visited T.B. Joshua at The SCOAN, he was privileged to be given Anointing Water. He had watched Emmanuel TV, to see the kinds of miracles and healings which people experienced in the church. He had applied the Anointing Water, the second day he got it, and he found it easy to pass excretes; there was no growth in the anus, any longer, as he demonstrated in church through his sitting position. He used to sin on one side of his buttocks. He is grateful to God for shaming the devil who wanted to shame him. He said without the Anointing Water, he would have gone through surgical operation. He advised that people should keep watching Emmanuel TV and obtain Anointing Water because “When you have it, you have God’s power with you”.

MR AMOS ADEGOR ASSISTED WITH 300,000 NAIRA AND BUILDING MATERIALS TO COMPLETE HIS HOUSE

While prophesying into people’s lives during the Monday Service, Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied to Mr. Amos Adegor from Delta State, living in Lagos; that God asked him to support him (Mr. Amos) with the sum of 300,000 naira to complete a house which had been abandoned for so long due to financial problems. He also pledged to give him building materials in order to remove frustration from the man whose land was almost forcefully acquired by an intruder and a betrayer through whose influence the land was originally obtained. The prophet also promised to hire a lawyer for Mr. Adegor on the issue, if it was absolutely necessary. On Monday, the money was given him during church service. He and family members were in church to thank God and the prophet, saying, “Yesterday I was nobody, now I am somebody”.

MR ADAMS AKUDOR AND BLESSING ADAMS ASSISTED WITH 300,000 NAIRA TO PAY HOUSE RENT IN SULEJA

A video clip was shown to the congregation in which a family was prophesied to by Prophet Joshua to the effect that the members were threatened with ejection from a house in Suleja because of inability to pay the rent. Mr. and Mrs. Adams Akudor and Blessing Adams, both from Delta State, the couple, were in church to encounter their blessing. The husband, who was working with an embassy in Nigeria, had been sacked from work and had no means of taking care of his family. There had been no peace in the family. The church offered the couple the sum of 300,000 naira and “The Mirror” book. They were grateful to God.

GODWIN OKEKE AND FAMILY RESCUED FROM POVERTY AND FRUSTRATION WITH 300,000 NAIRA

A video clip was shown of the prophecy to Mr. Godwin Okeke by Prophet Joshua during the Sunday Service. Mr. Okeke had been asked by the prophet if he would take back his woman, to which he said “Yes”. The couple had come to church on Monday. Mr. Okeke told the congregation that he was a Refrigerator and Air Conditioner Engineer, and had lived successfully in Ghana, with his family for 18 years, but had returned to Nigeria 4 years ago, to live in a one-room apartment with his family and mother. There was no job, food and clothes, and he could not pay school fees. His wife had to leave for Ghana. Mr. Okeke felt lonely and took to heavy drinking and smoking. He nearly hung himself. Mrs. Okeke corroborated her husband’s submissions in church; she said she was beaten severally, and pushed outside the home because of poverty. But she was lucky to learn of Emmanuel TV and the kinds of assistance which people often benefitted from at The SCOAN. She had placed the husband’s photograph on the screen, and she received information on his whereabouts in Nigeria. She told her husband it was time they both went to the church for assistance. The church reunified the couple and blessed them with 300,000 naira. They are grateful to God for showing mercy on them and kids.

HAPPINESS IWELOMEN DELIVERED FROM PROSTITUTION AND GIVEN 150,000 NAIRA

A video clip was shown reflecting when Miss Happiness Iwelomen and members of her family had come to The SCOAN for deliverance a few weeks back. She had manifested, with the spirit saying she had ability to sleep with 9 to 10 men each day “without getting tired and without knowing where the energy was coming from”. She is from a humble home and choose to prostitute to obtain money for her schooling; she had a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. She used evil power in her eyes to attract men, and she saw men as fools because she had negatively influenced the lives of both married and single men, as a queen in the Red Sea. She made them experience low sperm count and lose much money, as she was possessed with a snake spirit. She could not stop on her own, despite her efforts. She was delivered from prostitution and the appetite for men stopped. On Monday, she received 150,000 naira as gift from the church. She said, “My past is over. I now have the means to begin a new, clean life”.

In all, the sum of 1,050,000 naira was given out altogether to Mr. Adegor, Adams Akudor, Godwin Okeke and Happiness Iwelomen; each also collected three bags of rice as support as Christians we are called to respond to all human needs. Let the love of Christ be seen in you as you emulate His kind of love, His kind of giving – unconditionally.
