GOD’S POWER WORKING THROUGH HIS SPIRIT AND THE WORD

It was Christmas Day and The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations was teaming with people ready to see the miracle working power of our Saviour in action. The service began with beautiful songs of worship and carols. The atmosphere was charged as Prophet T.B. Joshua gave a message titled ‘Authority And Power.’ The prophet made the distinction between authority and power in both the secular world and the spiritual realm. Our reward for relating with Jesus, he maintained, is power. To know God is to know His power. Knowing facts about Jesus does not change our relationship with Him. An effective witness does not only know his faith but shows his faith. The prophet prayed at this point for the Lord to help him and the congregation to witness in Word and life. He asserted that it is God’s power working through Spirit and the Word that brings about deliverance, healing and blessing. Not only must we have God’s Word to be pastor, evangelist or bishop, we must also have God’s Spirit. When the Holy Spirit took residence within us, He did so with the thought of aiding our character. If you catch anybody in sin, you must restore him gently so that you will not fall into sin yourself, he advised. No one can say no to sin unless he is guided by the Holy Spirit. The prophet paused to pray for the Holy Spirit to impress the law into our heart; to pour into us His divine inspiration and to grant in us the practice of all virtues among other blessings. The prophet asserted that authority and power must go hand in hand as authority without power is worthless. Drawing the attention of his listeners to Luke 4:14-39, the prophet maintained that Jesus had authority over unclean spirits and also the power to force them out. In the same vein, he prayed that we have authority over diseases and the power of God to control them and tell them where to go. Jesus did not give us a powerless authority. We need to realise and speak in keeping with this power or else our ministry will be filled with empty talk and make our prayer superficial. Our prayer will be meaningless and often times destructive if not in line with the truth of God’s Word. It is nonsense to confess that Jesus is Lord but behave in a contrary manner. Not everyone who speaks in a spirit is a pastor. Everyone who claims to be a pastor must be tested by Biblical standard. Describing the Bible as the Book of books, the prophet encouraged his listeners to read it slowly, attentively and repeatedly. The more you read it the more you understand yourself and the God who created you. No spiritual passage exists in a vacuum. You must respond to it in a dialogue. This is as much about listening as speaking.

LOVE IS ALWAYS THERE TO ACT
In his message during the second Sunday service, Wise Man Racine reminded his listeners that Christianity is all about relationship with God, advising them to look into their love walk with God. He also enjoined them to act love, do love and let love lead. Giving his sermon the title: Love Is Always There To Act and citing Luke 2:10-11 as his proof text, the wise man reminded the congregation that Jesus came to restore the relationship and fellowship between God and man. Jesus cares for all; whether rich or poor. Jesus feels what others feel. Jesus is love and love looks around to see who is in need of help. He reminded the congregation that somebody somewhere was in need of what they had. He enjoined the congregation to love their neighbours. Your neighbour, he explained, could be anybody: friend, enemy or even those who do not share the same faith with you. When you see life as Jesus did, you will help all. Spending more on others and less on ourselves is the only way to show love, the wise man concluded his message.

WOMAN DELIVERED FROM ADDICTION TO EATING SOIL
Miss Agnes Nyanga from Zambia told her listeners that she had been addicted to eating sandstones and soil for the past 25 years and pleaded with the prophet to deliver her in the mighty name of Jesus. She revealed that the habit took form one day when she swept her premises and sniffed the scent of the soil. It was at that point that a voice told her to eat the soil. The habit, she revealed, had attracted haemorrhoids to her system. All her efforts to stamp the habit out of her life had met with failure, she added. She repeatedly appealed to the prophet for her deliverance, saying that she had watched cases like hers being delivered on Emmanuel TV. As Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for her in Jesus’ name, immediately, the evil spirit inside started manifesting wildly as she contorted her hands and began growling like an animal. Finally, she slumped after the contrary spirit had left her. The prophet educated the congregation that the animal in her that ate sandstones and soil had gone. Asked to eat the sandstone offered her after her deliverance, Agnes stared at the sandstone with disgust, reluctantly tasted it and promptly spat it out, saying that the old appeal had vanished. She thanked Jesus for her miraculous deliverance which had defied her efforts over the years.

MAN DELIVERED FROM THE SPIRIT OF RAPING ANIMALS
A video clip unfolded the deliverance of a young man by Wise Man Christopher. The young man, by name Kaniyimi Labista Kuni introduced himself as he underwent deliverance as a spirit of dragon having five powers. One of the powers located in his private parts was used to destroy women. He said any woman whom he made love to would not be pregnant. The power in his chest, according to the evil spirit speaking in him, was being used to destroy the young man himself so that he would not do well as a footballer. He revealed that he became possessed by the spirit of tiger and dragon at the age of 15 years. He said the tiger came to him and made love with him in a dream after which he became afflicted with the spirit of raping animals. He said that he had raped fowls, cows and goats in the past six years during which time the tiger came to him daily for love making. He however, confirmed in his testimony that after the deliverance, the urge to rape animals disappeared.

WOMAN DELIVERED FROM THE SPIRIT OF SUICIDE
Mr and Mrs Bennett Ofokans from South Africa told the congregation about the spirit of anger and suicide that had afflicted his wife, Love for years. Love explained that a spirit would come and ask her to leave this world and her husband by taking her own life. Since then, she became given to unnecessary anger and a desperate wish to commit suicide. She added that they came to The SCOAN in 2009 to seek the face of the Lord where she received a prophecy about the evil spirit in her life. The spirit always told her to leave this world. She was delivered after the prophecy and her life changed, making her enjoy her marriage from then. The deliverance which took place in 2009 was the reason for their visit from London to give the testimony. The couple thanked the prophet and God for her deliverance in the name of Jesus.

ANOINTING WATER REVIVED RUPTURED INTESTINE
Mr Tunde Sowemimo from Ondo State told his listeners that he had pain in his stomach, which caused him to fall down and he was rushed to a hospital where the diagnosis showed that his intestine had ruptured. He was also told that he would undergo a procedure the result of which could not be guaranteed. He consequently sent for the Anointing Water and as soon as he ministered it to himself, he regained energy immediately and got up from his sickbed hale and hearty without any operation on him. A test conducted on him thereafter never showed any rupture of the intestine, thanks to God restoring his health through the Anointing Water. A sickness of ten years ended miraculously and he began to eat solid food.

PRAYER RESTORES MAN’S LUMBER SPINE
After attending The SCOAN prayer line about two hours earlier, Mr Obiora Okeke accompanied by his wife, told the congregation about the goodness of the Lord in his life. He explained that he had been suffering from the problem of straightening of the lumber spine due to muscle spasm. He could not walk because of that and he got crutches from a hospital to aid his movement. To the glory of God however, after being prayed for by Wise Man Racine, his ailment was over. He advised his listeners to believe in God.

CONGREGATION DECLARED FREE AFTER MASS PRAYER
Prophet T. B. Joshua took time to pray for the congregation and Emmanuel TV viewers worldwide for total deliverance as they were about entering the New Year. In course of the mass prayer, many members afflicted by evil spirits manifested such spirits and were delivered. Many others vomited poisonous substances from their systems in reaction to the mass prayer. Asking both the congregation and Emmanuel TV viewers to join him in the mass prayer, the prophet moved from one prayer point to another. In the name of Jesus, the prophet prayed, whatever demonic activity in your life, I force it to come out in the name of Jesus. He explained that the demonic activity could be any disease, sickness, poverty, failure or disappointment. At the end of the mass prayer, the prophet asked all participants to thank the Lord for rewriting their history. He said the grace after declaring the congregation free.

THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE

Wise Man Christopher

Wise Man Christopher, with his usual fervour, issued his message which he titled, ‘The Weapons Of Our Warfare’ to the congregation and cited many portions of the Bible to make his case clear. In his words, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual through God in pulling down every demonic stronghold. The Word, he clarified, is not on the written page of the Bible but in the lips of the believers. As Christians, you need to fill your mind and heart with the Word to speak it. In Matthew 4 : 1-11, Jesus gave Christians the battle plan when He spoke directly to the devil in the wilderness. You need to learn the value of God’s Word on your lips to confront the devil victoriously. In Ephesians 6:17, the Bible tells us that those who overcome satan will be required to use the power of the spoken Word. David, in 1 Samuel 17:45 – 50 used the Word of God in his heart as a weapon to defeat Goliath. David’s first victory was therefore in the choice of the right weapon, which was the Word of God on his lips. As Christians, Jesus has given us the Word of God as a special weapon that no power of satan can withstand. Whatever your giant or mountain, you, as a Christian, can address it with the Word of God and achieve total victory. Prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit is the most formidable weapon, the wise man concluded his message.

WOMAN EFFECTUALLY DELIVERED FROM EATING HER HAIR

A week after her deliverance, Mrs Josephine Eseme Jimmy, standing beside her husband, happily gave thanks to God for her deliverance as, according to her, the urge to eat her hair had completely disappeared. Josephine came to The SCOAN the previous Sunday for deliverance from addiction to eating her hair, including those on her head, armpits and private parts. She said the addiction took form after she heard a voice ordering her to eat her hair. The unusual behaviour was cultivated before her marriage and had continued since then for a length of 23 years. After her confession, Josephine was delivered in the mighty name of Jesus by Prophet T.B. Joshua who told her that she was free and would not eat her hair anymore. She said that in her dream two days after the deliverance, the demon appeared to her to lure her to the old act but immediately, the man of God also appeared and the demon ran in fear. The man of God then held her and she woke from sleep. That was the end of her addiction to eating her hair. The couple thanked the prophet one more time for being used by Jesus to bring about her deliverance. In reaction, the prophet once more established the difference between authority and power. In his words, knowing facts about Jesus does not change your relationship with Him. He however added that your reward for a relationship with Jesus is power.

SPIRITUAL HUSBAND’S HOLD RELEASED IN JESUS’ NAME

A video clip on the events of the previous Sunday service showed Wise Man Daniel as he laid hands on the congregants. A woman among them,Mrs Alberta Boakye from Ghana reacted by manifesting the spiritual husband in her.

The spirit, speaking through her, said Alberta was his wife who disobeyed her to marry an earthly husband. The spirit added that it had destroyed the husband’s ministry for that reason. The spirit also said their second child could not learn because of the punishment by the spiritual husband. She was then delivered after prayer from Wise Man Daniel. Standing by her pastor husband as she gave her testimony, Alberta revealed that she sensed the spiritual husband in her life at the age of 16 when it used to have sex with her in her dreams. The spirit had been a thorn in their marriage of ten years, causing her to inflict emotional pain on her husband all the time. Under the influence of the spirit, she became the husband and took delight in issuing orders to her husband and beating him. She was however relieved to be free after her deliverance.

In response to the prophet, Pastor Nicholas the husband chronicled all the shameful treatment his wife inflicted on him under the influence of the spiritual husband. She would wake up and ask her husband in the dead of night to clean the house and wash the dishes. When she knew it was fasting time for her husband, she would deliberately set food before him to break the fast unjustifiably. Either she would meet the husband in the church to fight and embarrass him or prevent him by force from going to church after he was ready. On such occasions, the pastor whose church had branches in other countries, would call his fellow pastors in the church to ask them to carry on as he was still ‘waiting on God’. He lost his congregation to other churches and the branches closed because of the wife’s abnormal behaviour. A king of the community who attended his church withdrew his membership because of the wife’s behaviour. After praying for the deliverance of the pastor, Prophet T.B. Joshua assured him that he would assist him to reactivate his ministry and re-open the branches. Asked to comment on her husband’s confession, Alberta, in unmistakable remorse said, ‘I feel bad and sad’ and bemoaned satan for all that her husband had suffered in her hands. Prophet T.B. Joshua ended the episode by explaining that it was the evil spirit inside the wife that was responsible and now that she was delivered, her husband should not remind her of the past.

MAN DELIVERED FROM THE SPIRIT OF MASTURBATION

Mr Solomon Ogheneovo

A man from Delta, Nigeria, Solomon Ogheneovo by name, told the congregation of himself as a victim of the spirit of masturbation for 24 years. He thought that getting married would stop the embarrassing act but in fact, it continued. Even after marriage, he masturbated at least every day. After unsuccessful efforts, which included fasting and prayer, on his part to stop it, he finally decided to seek the face of the Lord in The SCOAN. After receiving the Anointing Water, he gathered his family and they prayed with it. That prayer, according to him, marked the end of his masturbation. He thanked God for using the prophet to bring an end to this torment in his life.

ANOINTING WATER RESTORES MENSTRUATION

Mrs Mercy Anthony

Mrs Mercy Anthony told listeners how she regained her menstruation which ceased for seven years, completely unresponsive to her efforts to reactivate it. She said a good Samaritan gave her a virtually empty bottle of the Anointing Water which she topped with water, prayed with and ministered on herself. Following that, her menstruation miraculously reappeared. She ended her testimony by advising all her listeners to trust God who has an answer to whatever problems they might have.

ANOINTING WATER RESTORES MEMORY AND FETCHES PROMOTION

Rahamat Yusuf Suleiman had an accident in April which, among other injuries, affected her memory. This affected her reading and preparation for her promotion examination in her workplace. The result was that she failed the examination and was denied promotion. After efforts elsewhere to find a cure had failed, she sent a friend to The SCOAN for the Anointing Water.

On receiving the Anointing Water, she prayed with it and sprayed it on herself, particularly her forehead. Soon after, to her amazement, she vomited an earthworm. The Anointing Water gave her total healing and following her prayer with it before going for another promotion examination in her workplace, she found the questions the same as the ones she had read, making her pass the examination with ease. As she gave her testimony, Rahamat displayed her promotion letter which was the outcome of her success in the examination. Rahamat advised her listeners to go to the Lord always for a solution to their problems.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR THE AGED, DISABLED AND CHILDREN WORLDWIDE

The Emmanuel TV Team and Partners as usual filled trailers with gifts of rice, flour and other food items and transported them to the elderly and physically challenged both within Nigeria and internationally.

Two of the many states in Nigeria that were visited by The Emmanuel TV Team were Yobe and Borno in the far north of the country. The team set off with two trailers each filled to capacity with rice and flour, in addition to cash gifts. The venue for the meeting with the Emmanuel TV Team was General Hospital Leprosy Centre, Maiduguri. People gathered from all around Borno State to attend the meeting.

The team sent by T.B. Joshua presented the community leaders with cash gifts and the bags of rice were distributed among everyone, regardless of race, faith or background. The Bible teaches us that we should love our neighbours as ourselves. In the same vein, various gifts were also dispatched to the needy and elderly people in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. In the Asian continent, Lahore, Pakistan was also visited with bags of rice, flour and other gift items.

FINANCIAL AID TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS

In the course of the service, five visually impaired students from the University of Jos were led to the platform where they narrated their financial problems as students, one after another.

Yakubu, a student of Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, was the first to bare his mind about his financial needs as a student and concluded that he needed the sum of N92,000.00 to pay his school fees and solve other problems as a student. The rest, in turn, also spoke, explaining that as students, even the money to release their results was hard to come by. Upon listening to their complaint, the prophet directed that their needs be met. Consequently, a total sum of N284,300.00 and bags of rice were disbursed among them.

MASS PRAYER FREES ALL

T.B Joshua

Praying in the power of the Holy Spirit, Prophet T.B. Joshua led the congregation and viewers worldwide in a powerful time of mass prayer. Many vomited the poisons long buried in their systems, thus receiving their freedom. The prophet prayed for the total release of his listeners in many areas of their lives, including their finances, businesses, marital lives among others. He also prayed for the restoration of their destinies and health. In the course of the mass prayer, the prophet issued prophecies to some people who, in reaction came forward to confirm the prophecies. Confirming that the entire congregation had been delivered and was free, the prophet proceeded to say the grace and bring the service to a close.

HE PROMISES TO SEE US THROUGH

Wise Man John Chi gave his message and cited Psalm 91:14-16 as his proof text. Explaining the word, ‘rescue’ as used in the text, he reminded his listeners that it suggests crises and danger. He added further that your choice to serve God in faith and truth does not shield your life from hard times but that the Lord will see you through. In the message which he aptly titled, ‘He Promises To See Us Through’ the wise man declared that in our walk with the Lord, there would be good and hard times and that, like the Biblical Job, we should be steadfast and hold on to the Lord whatever our situation. After Job’s crises, God eventually restored his blessing threefold. The same generous reward awaits those who defy tribulations and stay steadfast with the Lord. He enjoined his listeners not to allow their present situation to doubt the fulfilment of God’s Word in their lives. In his words, ‘… don’t lose hope, don’t give up, don’t listen to the language of your situation’. You should not allow your bad experiences to wipe you out; instead, turn your scars to stars. In a moment, the Lord will rescue you from your problems and shower His blessings on you, he concluded.

WOMAN’S DELIVERANCE FROM SPIRIT OF EATING SAND

Masindi Mugari, the South African woman, who received her deliverance in the previous Sunday service from the spirit of addiction to eating sand, in the mighty name of Jesus, confirmed her deliverance total and effectual after one week of stay in The SCOAN, during which she slept peacefully and had no urge to eat sand anymore. Thanking God in joy and excitement, she assured her listeners that God was aware of whatever problems they had and He would not disappoint them, if they stayed steadfast. She also thanked the prophet for being the agent in the hands of Jesus for her deliverance.

WOMAN DELIVERED FROM SPIRIT OF EATING HER OWN HAIR

Mr and Mrs Udoh from Akwa-Ibom, Nigeria surprised the congregation when the wife, Josephine revealed that for 23 years she had suffered the addiction to eating her hair, those from her head, her armpit and her private parts. This addiction, she added, began when a voice told her to eat her hair but despite all efforts to stop, the addiction continued. Confirming the confession, her husband added that she plucked her hair continually for eating. After a few words of advice on the need to visit the right place in time for deliverance, Prophet T.B. Joshua invited the lady to come forward and he stretched his hand at her for deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus. Declaring her free after that, Prophet T.B. Joshua asked her to pick some hair to eat. In reaction, Josephine plucked some of her hair and put it in her mouth. She however, spat it out soon after, on the ground that it no longer had any appeal to her. The couple thanked the prophet for being used by the Lord to deliver her so miraculously after 23 years of unrewarding efforts elsewhere.

PROPHECY REVEALS PROMOTION AFTER RETIREMENT

A video clip unfolded a prophecy in which the prophet mentioned a court case to a member of the congregation, advising him to forgive and forget to make his promotion, which was on the way, a reality. As soon as the clip was over, David Amah introduced himself to the congregation as Brigadier General David Amah, thus confirming the prophecy before giving the details. In his testimony, David told his listeners all his travails in the past over the promotion. Brigadier General Amah of the Nigerian Army serving at Defence Headquarters, Abuja submitted a letter for promotion last year but when the result came, he was not enlisted. He was consequently devastated. This year, he got a retirement letter making him heartbroken. He went to his family home in Port Harcourt where he watched Emmanuel TV. In his worry over his promotion, he, accompanied by his family, decided to seek the face of the Lord in The SCOAN on August 10 where the prophecy was issued to him. At the airport on their way home, he received a call from Abuja asking him to bring reports about his promotion. He changed his mind there and then and flew to Abuja, while asking his family to go home to Port Harcourt. That call was the beginning of the events that fetched him a promotion to the rank of Brigadier General after his retirement. An interesting fact about the whole story is that both the letter of retirement and that of the new promotion were signed by one and the same person. In Brigadier General David Amah’s words, only God can turn retirement into promotion. God is not time bound. Trust Him always, the Brigadier General advised his listeners.

ANOINTING WATER AVERTS ROBBERY AND MURDER

On September 4 this year, Mr Udoma Uboh prayed as usual with his family, using the Anointing Water before going to bed. However, as soon as they were in bed, they realized that they were surrounded by four armed robbers who asked them to surrender all their valuables, if they valued their lives. They did that promptly but the robbers appeared dissatisfied with their loot and threatened to shoot the man. One of them asked his wife to say the last prayer for her husband. Utilizing the opportunity, the wife started praying with the God of T.B. Joshua, asking him for protection for the husband and the rest of the family. As soon as the robbers heard the name of T.B. Joshua, they became disillusioned and the one whose gun was pointed at Mr Udoma Uboh lowered it, while the rest proceeded to return all that they had considered their loot. As they left the premises in disappointment, they fired a gunshot outside. It was the shot that would have silenced Mr Udoma Uboh forever but for the Anointing Water and the name of T.B. Joshua through the name of Jesus Christ. The couple thanked God for His mercy on them.

ANOINTING WATER ENDS STAGNATION OF 15 YEARS

Mrs Mercy Pius of Maiduguri in Borno, Nigeria narrated to the congregation that on 29 May she visited The SCOAN where she received the Anointing Water in her efforts to solve many of her problems, including her stagnation as a worker for 15 years. At home, she prayed and ministered the Anointing Water on herself in the name of Jesus. On her way from the church, a friend called her to inform her that her name had been enlisted for promotion. Before long, her promotion came, catapulting her from grade level 8 to 13. She could not hide her joy at this development and advised her listeners to always believe in God for a solution to their problems.

WATCHING EMMANUEL TV CHANGED MAN’S LIFE FOR BETTER

Mr Davies Opubor narrated a very interesting experience he had at home with Emmanuel TV. Coming home at night, he was torn between preparing his dinner and sitting down to watch the Emmanuel TV telecast. He however, embraced the two at the same time by switching on the Emmanuel TV and shuttling between his room and the kitchen to boil some rice for the evening, while his ears were hooked on to the telecast. As he moved to and fro putting some rice on the fire, he could hear the voice of T.B. Joshua apparently monitoring his movements and advising him to settle down in the sitting room to benefit from the deliverance prayer that he was offering. At first he did not listen, until Prophet T.B. Joshua referred to a person cooking rice that he should stop what he was doing to come and watch Emmanuel TV. Finally realizing that Prophet T.B. Joshua was talking to him, he sat down as instructed and participated in the prayer with Prophet T.B. Joshua for all viewers of Emmanuel TV. Davies confirmed that after the deliverance prayer with the prophet, his life changed. As he got to office the following day, he saw his leave application approved contrary to the routine the previous years. He used to suffer many tribulations before the deliverance prayer with the prophet. He used to eat in dreams and was abnormally attracted to women among other bad traits, causing him to wish to commit suicide. However, the deliverance prayer changed all the odd behaviour associated with him. He saw himself after the deliverance prayer preaching to women rather than making advances to them as he used to do. After receiving the Anointing Water from The SCOAN, he used it to heal a man from stroke. He was particularly happy that his life has changed for the better and thanked the prophet as a true man of God.

MASS PRAYER FREES ALL PARTICIPANTS

In the mass prayer which brought the Sunday service to a close and in which many of those afflicted with contrary spirits manifested beforedeliverance, Prophet T.B. Joshua was particularly concerned about the congregation entering the New Year in a state of purity and accord with the Lord and spared no breath as he directed prayer points at many areas of life. He prayed for the release of their finances, careers, marital lives and restoration of their health and destinies among others. Calling both the congregation and Emmanuel TV viewers to stretch out their right hands in prayer in the name of Jesus, he intoned, ‘Viewers, whatever you touch shall be blessed and you shall enjoy a breakthrough in your career, marital life and all your endeavours’.

SET FREE FROM SKIN IRRITATION

Goodman from Swaziland had been plagued with a skin irritation which had caused him incredible discomfort for five months. He was no longer able to function and carry out his activities normally as he should have done – that was until he reached out by faith and received his healing from Jesus Christ.

“I have read and heard about other believers’ testimonies, not thinking that God will make me share mine with the rest of the world soon. I give praise to God for healing me from some skin discomfort which has been troubling for the past 5 months. The discomfort had affected both my thighs and it caused severe irritation and constant itching.

 When the man of God, Prophet TB Joshua invited us to touch the screens of our television sets by faith, just like all the other faith-filled viewers, I touched the screen and prayed together with the man of God. Each time the man of God invited the viewers to pray with him, I did so. Today as I send in this testimony, I am free from this skin discomfort; the itching is gone completely and the minor sores that had developed as a result of the itching are healed. God is great indeed and when He heals he heals completely. Praise be to God.”
